The 2nd International Conference on Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Investments organized by the European Photovoltaic Industry Association, gathered on the 19th and 20th February in Frankfurt almost 300 participants from 34 countries. The PV sector is the renewable energy business attracting the most investments today. Over 25% of the investments in clean energy technologies are going to solar PV. The conference gave a perfect opportunity to review the main PV market trends and industry developments, to understand the specificities of solar PV technology and to explore the best instruments with which to finance both PV projects and companies.

The two-day conference was divided in two sessions during the first day and into two parallel sessions during the second day.

After an intensive two-days conference it has been proofed that the PV industry and the investors are getting closer. More investment institutions are becoming specialised in the PV sector (or renewable energies in general) and the PV industry is working hard to attract and facilitate investments.

This conference, as perfect networking opportunity, has contributed to reduce the gap between the Financial sector and the PV industry and to gain a better knowledge in both sectors with discussions and excellent presentations.

In the light of the success of the 2nd International Conference on Solar Photovoltaic Investments, EPIA is looking forward to gather stakeholders from both sectors for a 3rd version in 2009.
